so very sad but I didn't realize he was 72.

ZZ Top is one of my favourite bands.

I saw this yesterday. Kind of sad. Even though I've never actually been a "fan," I have heard and often appreciated their music.

R.I.P.

Wonder if they'll continue on as a group? They've been together through so much that it might be weird...for everyone

Yeah, I think this might be one of those instances where it makes sense to disband.

Apparently they intend to continue.
Cool that he knew and loved his friends that much. Also cool that his friends intend on doing what they've always done, and can feel good about it, knowing that dusty wanted them to be happy.

If I wore a hat, I'd tip it in his honor. Class act for sure!

These guys used to be a customer of ours when we were in the air freight industry (Airborne Air Freight Corp) back in the late 70's and early 80's. They had an office a couple of blocks from where I live now. Sometimes we had to ship instruments or documents for them when they got broken/stolen/beat up when they were on tour. We used to love to pick up air freight there because they had a super beautiful receptionist that never wore panties or bras and she didn't mind you sneaking a peak....lol. They even had that Eliminator car there for a bit.

Billy Gibbons used to come up to the airport to ship some documents sometimes and none of the ladies wanted to attend to him that first time, and he stood there for a long time I heard, until they found out who he was. One of the guys whispered, "Hey that's Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top!". Ha! After that they always rushed up to the counter all at once. We'll miss you Dusty, rest in peace.

Usually I don't care if celebrities pass but this is one of those exceptions.

A unique band with a very distinct style of fashion, music and videos. I haven't seen anyone do blues-rock-synth-pop like they did in the 1980s.

I absolutely love this song:

The day before the dude died.. I got home from work and my cool neighbor grabs me as I"m on my way in the house. Says to me " I got my new van" and does a flourish with one arm. " how about we get a bunch or people and go to see ZZ Top? People can get messed up and I can do the driving.. They've been on my bucket list forever"

There was a lot more to the conversation but I told him it sounded great. I haven't seen him since...
