Dust in my scanner

I've been noticing dust speckles on my scans and gently cleaned the platen glass. When the speckles remained, I looked closer, using scanner light to shine through, which showed the dust on inside. Now this unit appears sealed and I don't know how to clean it. Suggestions?

None of the scanners are sealed - just a matter of figuring out how to open it up. I have had to open my Epson several times to clean dust out of the inside (live in an old, old house w/ lots of dust sources). My old Visioneer was offgassing plasticizer on the inside and I had to open that one to clean that stuff off of the glass. There's some special stuff you can get at car parts places that's designed to remove plasticizer (from upholstery and trim) from the inside of car windows - works good on scanners that have that problem too.
