Dust buster recommendations

In the 80's black&decker coined the name dustbuster, I think....

Are they the 'goto' brand necessarily?

I really could use one, and I'm willing to spend, as I could use it all over the house in doing 'spot' vaccuuming...

I have wood floors so I wouldnt want to wheel a full sized vacuumaround, although a vaccuum would allow you to vaccuum without bending at the waist as you would while using a hand vac.

I got a rechargeable 14v dirt devil stick vac, because I have a golden retriver that is shedding like a mofo right now.

It works great for the floor. MUCH better than a dustbuster. It cannot get into small tight spots, but it can get places where a full size vac can't. (the cordless has about an 8" head)

The particular model (sorry, don't know what it is off the top of my head but how many can there be) I have also comes with a charging base, so you just throw the thing into the base (it stands upright) and it charges.

My only complaint is that the dirt collection container is kind of small, and emptying it out I inevitably create a huge dustcloud of nasty dirt, but compared to the hassle of dragging out my full size vac, dealing with the cord, etc, it's definitely worthwhile. I probably only have to "really" vaccum half as much as I used to. Actual sucking power is worse than a corded vac - but good enough that it picks up hair, dirt, etc, without issue.

No - the stick version - Power Stick. Like I said, actual vacuuming power is okay but not amazing, however, convenience and hassle factor make it 10x easier and quicker to use than a regular vac. I have a VERY good corded dustbuster type vac that can suck up anything you throw at it - however I almost never use it becuase it is a pain to drag out, connect the hose, untangle the 20' cord, etc etc. With this stick vac, you pick it up off the charger/base, go vaccum whatever was pissing you off, and plunk it right back down on the base. It is always charged and ready to go.

Best hand vac I have ever owned. It works extremely well.

I've got one too, although it comes with a long cord which can get in the way sometimes.

I wish they'd marry this vac to a 24v battery though.

Ever heard of Oreck?

'Nothing gets by an Oreck'

Well, I came across a local newspaper and it says David Oreck comes to Broaday...
Grand Opening of the first Oreck Factory Showroom in the Big Apple on Broadway and 68th st, and showrooms in manhattan Bed bath Beyond locations....

He's doing signings and personal appearances throughout the city... I should say DID as it was this the weekend.

I saw the paper today after having it since friday...

It doesn't list how long this will last, but for 12.99, one per customer and while supplies last, you get their ZIP Vac Ultra, a $45 value.

I had family get one today.... just tried it... pretty good.. then it died out in its 4th minute.. reading the manual, sure enough you need to charge it for minimum 12hrs the first time.

I'll post this in hot deals?
