duron week 35 question, building a system question and overclocking

Anyone know how a week 35 overclocks? I have one that is for another person. I am going to help them put the system together. What was it about needing more voltage for weeks after 31? They will be using an Abit KT7. thanks

You will need UL bios for the Duron. AMD changed the default voltage to 1.6v at week 31. This caused issues for Abit. The system will start to post and freeze when checking the memory. The 'fix' is on the ABIT site. You can ask for a new BIOS chip (most boards are shipped with TL) or you can temporary use a soft pencil to connect the fourth L7 bridge. This will allow the system to boot so that you can download the UL bios and flash. You probably should get the BIOS first on another system if possible.
