From a value perspective which do you think is better? How much faster is the Thunderbird compares to the Duron? On price basis? I am guessing Thunderbird will be just a couple of frames faster in games and stuff.

the tbirds and durons seem to be similarly priced.

the tbirds are faster due to the extra cache for those tasks that need it. MHz = that is...

if all you do is surf the net, get the duron and save $10 bucks.... =) of course i am not talking about getting the fastest athlon compared with the fastest duron...

the durons are an excellent value, as are the slower athlons...

i'm looking at tbirds myself...

If I was buying one to play games, I would get the Duron to save some money and use it to get a better video card.....At higher res, the video card is a bigger factor then processor speed

I had the choice between a Duron 600 and a TBird 750, the TBird was roughly twice the price of the Duron.

And now Im using a Duron@900 MHz :)

What about the ability to be overclock? Which has a higher chance to overclock better?

I think maybe the Duron, because it has the same core as the Thunderbird but has less cache to OC too, so it will probably overclock better as the extra 192KB cache may pull down the potential OCing ability.
