Our reliable sources reported about a couple of new details concerning AMD future plans dealing with Duron processor family. Here is what we can share with you now:
Q1 2001. Duron 850MHz. this CPU will be the last Duron based on the old core. We are really surprised that AMD Company decided to stop at such a low frequency with its successful offspring. We have already proven with facts and figures that these processors feature a much larger potential... However, we, the customers, will hardly suffer from this small change
Q2 2001. Duron 900MHz. This CPU will be based on a new Morgan core.
H2 2001. Duron 1000MHz (Morgan core).
Q1 2002. Duron 1100MHz (Morgan core).
Q2 2002. Mass production of a new Duron CPU based on Appaloosa core (0.13micron manufacturing technology). The first samples of these new processors should be manufactured in Q1 2001 already.
