Duron surface?

Looking at pics of the Duron chip, it doesn't look smooth, ie:k6-2. Does the onboard cache make it uneven?....would that interfere with the flat surface to surface contact between cpu & heatsink?

if i am reading your post right, The uneven part of the cpu is the actual chip itself, where it has the chips name speed etc. Mounting the chip this way increases the ability to transfer heat, because it has less material to go through. The poroblem of heatsink mounting is solved by the 4 little paads which keep the heatsink level
