for the duron 750 at newegg.com , i see that there is one with AKCA stepping and one that doesn't say anything about stepping, of course the one with the AKCA stepping is more expensive, anyone care to elaborate for me please?

The durons with the akca seem to overclock very well. I have a duron 750 with the akca and i overclocked it to 1000 just by changing the voltage (didn't even need to unlock it) on my motherboard. I did have to get a better hsf for it though as the stock one wasn't stable.

my AKCA duron900 doesn't o/c very well...i could change the multiplier from the default 9 up to 10.5, but it wouldn't go much higher than that...and it wouldn't stay there long before problems began appearing...i have a FOP32-1 on it, too, and temps never exceeded 51C.

i'd steer clear of durons, if you can, and go with a newer Athlon.
