Hello,

*sorry for the cross post.

I'm looking for Duron owners. Thinking about building a box using a 700MHz. I'd like to know your thoughts on your Duron systems. What are you using? I'll put Win2K/Pro on it.

Thanks,
Kamaboko

I can say only the best about Duron. Fast, cheap, oc well...

A7V is also a great mobo, one of my favorite things is that you can oc ram to 133MHz for ~10% fps boost in Unreal.

I'm also using it with my Gf DDR and I don't have any problems what so ever.

Durons are hot [not literally] right now, if you need a new comp I'd highly recommend one.

Best bang for the buck.

check my signature.
im VERY pleased with my Duron 600
btw, you may want to get a kt7 instead of an asus since some ppl have been having perf. issues with it
also, dont get a retail 700, its a waste of money; i got my 600 to 750 using the pencil trick EASILY (been stable for the last 5 days) and i plan to go even higher.
ive heard of ppl gettin 1150mhz out of it :)

I would highly recommend the Duron 600/Abit KT7 combo. I bought an OEM Duron 600 and it's running stable at 900mhz at 1.75V. It's stable at 1Ghz at 1.85V. Can't complain.

My sister's new Duron 600/MSI K7T Pro/Geforce2 MX system that I just built for her is very stable. Can't beat the price also. :)

I would get an Abit KT7 with a Duron, and a 700MHz seams a good combo at the moment

A pencil, a Duron 600 and an ASUS A7V, shake well and you have a very cheep 800-1Ghz setup capable of burying any video card on the market today.

Mine is at 900Mhz. 1.85V rock rock rock stable. I wish my work machine was as nice as this!

I just built a Duron 650 last night.

I had an Athlon 600 so I didn't expect that big of a performance difference. The Athlon 600 replaced the k6-2 and the Duron took its place. Luckily I got a 650 Duron instead of the 600 I bought (paid for 600 :) ) and it's a tad bit faster.

Definitely like the idea of my Ram going 133mhz opposed to 100. And for a chip that only costs about 55 bucks, dear god it's awesome

got my 600@900. it's a very fast little rig, and it's on the cheap....$70 cpu and a $150 mobo.... $220 for 900mhz, not bad in my book:) especially considering i my video card(GF2 GTS) cost well more then that.(not that i paid that much;))
