At Tomshardware, they wrote an article on how to overclock the Duron processor:
http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/00q2/000623/index.html

Here they were able to o/c their 650-700 to 950MHz successfully using an ASUS K7V motherboard.

While 99% of the other web sites I've been to, they were only able to o/c their Cpu's to 750MHz using 110MHz FSB, some using the K7V and other motherboards.

Was tomshardware just lucky? or is it possible?
I need your input!

thanks

Tom was using a pre production model of the A7V. However we found out about a week ago that ASUS has removed the dip switches that adjust the multiplier. They're debating weather or not to include them when the motherboard ships.

I've also heard rumours that we may be able to adjust the multiplier through the BIOS, which would be nice, but that's not confirmed. Check out the link to see for yourself.

I was pretty pissed off when I saw this. I was so hoping to buy a Duron 600 and overclock that puppy to 950. If the ASUS board can't do it then there are two other possibilities, Abit and QDI. :)
