Duron overclocking with Abit KT7-Raid

Hello everybody...

... I´ve read Anand Lal Shimpi´s article about the Abit KT7 (I have one) and there´s an interesting statement in this article:

If all L1-Bridges on the top of the processor are closed, Softmenu III is able to overclock the processor...is it just that easy, because if the answer is "yes", then I´ll immediately will open my computer-case and use my conductivity-pen.

Who has experience with this board and the overclocking of Durons/Thunderbirds with Softmenu III

yep, it's just that easy! The hard part is gettin it stable at max speeds

100% that easy, and it is actually not that had to get stable.

my system under stress never gets above 38 degrees and i have my duron 600 overclocked to 850 with normal cooling. i'm not going to increase the voltage until my pal6035 comes in later this week

So, it's just a matter of connecting ALL of the L1-bridges, and not just the specific ones to reach a particular speed?

Thanks for the link. Very good explanation.
One other question: Since covering all of the L1 bridges passes the multiplier control to the KT7 SoftMenu BIOS, does covering all of the L7 bridges have the same effect for the voltage?

Diesel Dan, don't mess with the voltage bridges, use the voltage tweaks in the bios. If you MUST tweak the voltage with bridge adjustments check out AMDZONE, they have a post of a German site which allows you to input the voltage you need and it shows the bridge settings.
