Duron or Tbird??

Some site has durons guaranteed to 1ghz, abit kt7, and fan for 220? Is this good for gaming or should i spend a little more for a tbird? I have an Athlon750 right now with geforce2 and 256mb ram. Some say the durons aren't worth it but for the price i say how can you go wrong??

Input appreciated,
Brent

i dunno how much of an exact improvement you'll see with a 1ghz machine over your current 750. There would definetly be some but i dunno if it would be worth getting new innards for. However, i would go with the duron. As stated before, you can beat the price on it.

Well some sucker is buying my 750 and board and fan for 400!! so i will pocket 170 after all this if i get the duron1000+kt7 combo 🙂

I found this article over at sharky. It has some pretty good benchmarks comparing both celerons and durons, overclocked and stock.

Also if your looking for chips guaranteed to overclock stay away from these guys.

I ordered a KT7-raid, Duron 950, and GlobalWin FOP-32 HSF on 8-26-00.About 10 emails later I still have no heatsink. I'm supposed to be getting a different HSF today from them, but I'm not holding my breath.

I did get the mobo and processor though.
