Despite that, majority are still using Intel cpu.
Here the con of AMD cpu,
1. runs too hot
2. will not shut itself down if overheated
3. cpu are very thin and easy to crack.
The pros of Intel cpu,
1. it runs cooler.
2. will not fry itself if overheated.
3. its nicer looking chips and not as fragile.
4. they are going to rule the world! as soon as AMD go out of business because they AMD make so little profit. chuckle. chuckle.
5. it quality stuff, their cpu usually last twice as long.

< 1. runs too hot >

depends...my 1.1@1.2 runs 38c idle and 45c under load...I have seen p4's running hotter. And remember since I have an athlon that probably makes me comparable to near 1.5 p4 in performance.

< 2. will not shut itself down if overheated >

get a program like mbm and its not a problem...You don't know much or are you just rehashing what you have been spoon fed.

< 3. cpu are very thin and easy to crack. >

mostly if you are an idiot...Do research and find heatsinks that work best with certain mobos. I have placed many know without a hitch.

< The pros of Intel cpu,

True statement...but I would take a little more heat to beat some performance out of that mule p4...make mine a palomino!!!!

< 2. will not fry itself if overheated. >

nice feature...being incorporated in athlon4 desktop model soon to be released.

< 3. its nicer looking chips and not as fragile. ><

What, Iare you going to sleep with it??? Put a heatsink on it and you don't see crap of the chip anyway...totally stupid pro (the nicer looking part only)

< 4. they are going to rule the world! as soon as AMD go out of business because they AMD make so little profit. chuckle. chuckle. >

Oh I see...That explains you very well!!! They have less overhead and none existent advertising so it takes less to stay in the black.

Don't worry you can then go back to paying 500 dollars for a cpu...competition is a good thing you arse...

< 5. it quality stuff, their cpu usually last twice as long. >

Where did you find that crap? I have 2 amd 400's 3 year old still running, while a p2 400 that bit the bullet. In the most part all of my cpus since 1995 are still running to date that I know of (except one mentioned).

How old are you? Very poor argument...Don't join the debating club.

I know you are just trying to start a flame war anyways....

I wonder why the mods are not blocking flames (is it because the mods flame this type of stuff as well?? :D)

CyrixMII333,

It's a matter of preference of which CPU ppl choose. Your posting of such nature had undermine the complexity of the CPU competition.

Might offend the community here as well.

The Cyrix III is clearly better because thier metal plated chips are more durable, they use very little power and thier name has an "X" in it :)
