Hello,

How do I connect the Alpha PAL6035 HSF (Pre-assembled) to a Duron. From the earlier posts I understand that the CPU should be in the Motherboard. Next what?

My question is, how does the HSF clamp the CPU? Are there any links to websites that explain it?

I have a Duron 650, Alpha PAL6035 and MSI K7TPro-2A.

I will apreciate all and any help.

Thanks

look on the metal clip, see 2 little holes. match those up with the tabs on the socket (white thing the duron is in). Thats all there is too it. Just make sure you try to put it on flat, the core of the duron is fragile.

Thanks.

I have tried it without the CPU and man it is tight. I hope the Duron won't crack.

One more question. What is the type to Pencil to use for the L1 bridges? Was it H, 2H .. 5H or HB...5HB?

Thanks Again

I have the alpha 6035 also and this is a hard one to clip on there compared to the FOP 32 and FOP38. just make sure you push down only on the clip and not the heatsink itself. If not done carefully your Alpha could be a Duron killer. I have to use a screwdriver to help guide the clip down strait. good luck and take your time.
