Duron 900 ...funny things with FSB @ 112

My Duron 900 runs just fine (and cool) at the stock 900MHz...

So, naturally, I wanted to find out what it would do at a higher speed. I set the FSB at 112 using MSI's utility--no problems. I then went and set the FSB at 112 in the BIOS (and disabled MSI's utility). Booted into Win98 and after a short while, the minimize / restore / kill buttons on all of the windows were greyed out. I also noticed other strange windows-related events.

Rebooted, went into the BIOS and reset to 100MHz. Win98 returned to its normal state.

Question: Was this caused by memory, perhaps? My CPU didn't get up to much above 39C at 112MHz FSB. I'm using one stick of 128MB PC133 Mushkin and another stick of PC100 (runs at 133 CAS2) that is generic.

Thanks for any info or suggestions...

Pull out the stick of generic PC100 RAM even though it was running 133@Cas 2 and see how the overclocking goes. I think crappy memory tends to be the greatest limiter on FSB overclocking, especially when you're using an AMD chip.
