Yes, a Duron 800 can be overclocked. Many people here post durons at >1ghz. First you need a motherboard capable of changing the CPU multiplier.Try the Abit KT7, or Asus A7V. There are other boards out there that will overclock also, just make sure that you can adjust the multiplier, not just the bus speed.

You will have to "unlock" the Cpu's multiplier lock, Anandtech, Toms hardware, and most every other overclocking site now have step by step instructions on this.It involves closing the L1 bridges on the top surface of the processor.Do a search in this forum for "duron bridges", and you should have enough information to get started. I highly recommend the conductive ink, or Loctite method, as it is permanant, and yielded me more speed.

Give a little more information on your system, so help can be more specific. What week duron, Motherboard model#, type of ram used, sound card, video card, and anything else you think of will improve the quality of advice you get.
