Hello! My Duron 750 is running at around 50C full load and about 35C idle .. Are these temps OK for this CPU? I'm running this cooler : http://www.spire.nl/products/5c12b3.htm , Does any1 use the same cooling unit? Is it OK for a 750 Mhz CPU and maybe overclocking it? Besides I have an ATX case with a 300W ACME power supply (it has only 1 standart cooling unit in the back) and i run it closed. My mobo is chaintech 7AJA2 and i can see from the BIOS "Health Monitor" that my CPU core is running at 1.66V. I suppose that those 0.06V are given to avoid stability problems? Or should I put my CPU to 1.6V as it should work by default. Is it possible? Thanks for replies.y0mAn.:)

I have a Duron 750 with a Volcano II HSF and I typicaly get 46 to 48 degrees and my temps don't wary much as I have not implemented the idle registry hack. My case is always open though and my ambient room and case temp is at around 90F or 32C and sometimes hotter. When i closed the it hapened to be a very hot day (the AC in my room does not work) and the case temp whent past 100F or about 40C, and the CPU was at about 53-55C and still stable though.

I don't know about your HSF but I can tell you the Arctic silver that I have makes a big difference and I also have an ASUS A7V as diferent mombos have diferent temp readings. If you have good thermal compound you can touch the heatsink at the base and if it is just warm then you are fine but if it is HOT then you may have problem. Most importntly check your case temp as the best HSF can only cool down to the case temps.

Your CPU runs pretty hot for a duron...my 750 stock ran 31C full load...with the case off. With it on, I'd estimate ~34-35C full load. OCed to 1ghz@1.85vcore...45C load. Right now, it's at 870 and 1.65vcore: 39C full load.

You won't be able to go too far safely on that cooler...although moving to 850 or so should be ok...If you have some extra $$ (~30 bucks), i'd get a better unit: Taisol CGK 742092 or Globalwin WBK 38 (change fan to a 80mm to lower noise if you want) would be good choices

edit: the average temp inside my case is about 21-24C

Thanks for your replies guys .. How Can i measure my inside case temp? According to SiSoft Sandra it is called Power/Aux temperature , right? Btw , i haven't used any registry cracks too ..

While I'm writing this message i see these Sisoft Sandra results :

Board Temperature : 26.3C
CPU Temperature : 33.9C
Power/Aux Temperature : 34.8C
CPU Fan Speed : 4891rpm (though it rated at 4000rpm)

Dunno about this cooler , but "PC health Monitor" in BIOS has the same CPU Fan Speed results as Sandra has (Watched this happening before).Strange.

I don't know about the Power/Aux temp but it may be the power suply and the case temp is most likely the 26.3C reading. now keeping everything the same take it to full load and see what happens. I dought it should go up to much withour the registry hack but if it does I recomend a better HSF.
