I have:
Duron 750
Asus A7V133
512mb PC133 Crucial
Kyro II

Now, I already know that going to a Ti200 Geforce3 will give me a decent speed increase, but how much, do you think? I can push 90fps in QIII, 1024x768x32 max textures/archi, etc, and Serious Sam runs like a dream. Unreal tournament doesn't seem to be a whole lot better than the SLI Voodoo2s that I had, though. I'm going to try to get to BB tomorrow morning (early), and see if I can pick up a Ti200. Do you think it would really make a big difference, or would I need a faster processor for much of any speed increase?

Sorry to ask you guys yet another of these "Should I" questions..but I'm in a time crunch :)

Thanks much

I guess the question is, Are you happy with the framerate you have now? If it suits you for now, then I'd say keep the card you already have. The visual dif in games playing at 90fps and 4000 fps is non-exhistant. With the GF3, you might be able to do some higher quality filtering while it still looks smooth, that's for sure. Frankly, I'm waiting on the next Kyro card so I can choose between it and the Radeon 8500. That's just me.

The problem you have is your cpu, it's fine for general computer use but not for games, I used to have a Duron 750 and a Kyro 2 like you, when I recently upgraded to a 1.3ghz Athlon I got a good performance increase. If your happy with your Kyro 2 but want more speed for games then spend $90 and get yourself a fast Athlon cpu. The 1.3ghz Athlon seems to be the most cost effective cpu right now!

There are 2 options you could do which would each give you a performance increase:-

1.Spend $90 and get an Athlon 1.3ghz cpu and stick with your Kyro 2, you'll get great gaming performance and your pc will be faster overall.

(I Personally went with this option because overall computer performance is more important to me than just gaming performance,!)

2.Spend $160 and get a GF3 Ti200, you'll get great performance but due to your cpu you'll not get the full performance the video card has to offer. Obviously with just upgrading the video card your not going to get any increase in performance in other things like mp3 encoding for example but if you just use your computer for games then that doesn't matter too much.

I've managed to find a review of the GF3 Ti200 with an overclocked Duron (800@1012), your scores will be lower than in the review but it will give you a good indication of the frame rates you can expect to get.
