Okay i got the Duron 750 and The MsiProKt7 Pro-2a

I did the mulitpler pencil thang also the l7 cache thang.
Right Now the highest i can get it with it being stable

1.8 volts
Is 927mhz 103fsb x9
memory running at 133mhz

I tried 950 would go into winme but then it either come up with some reg error or dll errors. Tried increasing Volts to see if stablity would occur nope.

I know it's not the cooling i got a big arse fan blowing on it and temp is pretty good.

Am I stuck? Or can i get higher by doing something else
Any tips please suggest them.

Yeah I know 927mhz is pretty good for the price of this chip. But I at least want 950 wanna try to get 1ghz but i think that maybe out the question.

Maybe if i would of choose a different board?? But this board is pretty great though.

My suggestion probably won't be too popular here, but be happy with 927. After all, these chips are fast for the money as they are. Getting a 20-25% increase in speed on top of that is awesome. I bought three 700 Durons from buy.com, and all will reach 950 at 1.8 volts or less, but I can't get any of them to get any higher so far. I am certainly not going to spend $15+ on a better cooling system. I am sure I could with higher voltage/better cooling, but is it really worth it? I have actually knocked them back to 850 mhz and 1.75 volts to keep the CPU temp below or at 40c. Two I have given away as gifts, the last I will try to get 950 at cooler temps and maybe stay there or at 900.

Yeah be happy with 927. Got two Duron 700's; one at 1ghz(1.85v), the other can't do anything past 900 (1.85v). It seems stable at 900 though after Prime95 torturing, seti@home and some serious gaming for a week (temp around 42-45). I crash sometimes ( hardly ever in games or Prime95) but it is more a Win98 and/or memory problem I suspect (PC100@133-2/2/3).

You've gotta remember that overclocking is a luck of the draw thing... some chips will do 1.2 and some may not even overclock at all - I concur with the others... be thankful with 927, it's still a fricking fast CPU.
Also, though Clock Multiplier O/C is the gentleman's way of overclocking, FSB O/C will give you a faster overclock, because you're beefing up all the external busses (memory, PCI etc) as well... In other words a 910MHz FSB O/C will most likely be quicker than a 927MHz CMx + FSB O/C
Cheers.

It might be a power issue. They say you need a good 300w psu if you're going to get anywhere near 1Gig.
