duron 700 oc to 1000 @ 35C idel...too hot??

i got a duron 700 on kt7 raid with the taisol cgk742 in antec sx1030 with 4 80mm fans...running at 1000 mhz, idel temp from via hardmonitor is about 35-36C...is that too hot or about right?? thanks much

haven't really load it up yet...but does the idle temp seem ok or too high?? and also...how can i install win98se after installing win2000...after converting my hd to ntfs...

it depends... it probably isn't too high of an idle, knowing your full load temp will solve that problem.

Yeah just play UT for half an hour or so and then check the temp. And you can't install 98se after you've installed 2000. You need to installed 98 then install 2000 if you want to dual boot!

i'm trying to get rid of win2000 cus of driver problem?? there is no way to get rid of 2000 and put in win98?? what about formating c:?? and would win98 see the c: cus i converted it to ntfs...(stupid me)

i thought most 1ghz run about 45 - 55 C
30's seem pretty low to me...but .. yeah what are your full load temps?
you could just run winamp converting mp3 to wav for 10 minutes...
it gets it hot...

You can use the win2k startup cd to wipe off the hd, then cancel the win2k installation.

You can load your cpu with either seti@home, prime95, rc5. Games dont' necessarily go 100%, and add extra temp to the case. Best just to test the cpu at first.

Man.. most people dream of getting a 700 to even 950 and maintain such a low temperature..
These chips are rated for HOT temperatures.. (life of up to 90ish C?)

at least 15 minutes for the full-load change to register... preferably longer.
