Duron 700@927, is this too hot...

i've got system at 30, chip just running on net at 41, is this too hot for ambient.

also, running seti for about an hour, chip climbed to 53. is this way too high, or is it OK

btw i have only cheap £5 from puter fair hsf (but still quite beefy) and psu fan, nowt else

i've got a kt7 (no raid), which i've bent the temp sensor up to almost touch the chip, it may even be touching it. i have no case fans, the only one moving air thru case is the psu one.

UPDATE: i now have it runnning 700@936, and add a degree or two to the previous temps depending on room temp and time of day. with seti@home, it now reaches about 54-56

should i set the overheat temp for cpu on mobo monitor to 50 or 60?

60 or higher. AMD chips can take 90C core temp, which could mean anywhere from 50-60 REading temp safely.

Your temps are warm due to poor case cooling. Add a few fans, that should drop the temp significantly.
