Duron 700@832, the best i can do....help wanted pls

[Confused]

i managed to unlock the multiplier on my Duron yesterday, but it won't go past 8x. if i put the fsb past 104, it crashes at windows splash screen with GPE. at 9x100, it won't even post.

what could be causing this to happen. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Duron 700@832 (best i can get into Windows Me)
Abit KT7 (no raid)
1x 64 mb pc100 ram
1x 32 mb pc66 ram
Creative GeForce2 MX 32mb ddr agp
4.3gig hdd (ata 33)

atm, sitting at idle with CPU @ 34 degrees C, system temp @ 27
after running 3D Mark 2000 for about 2 hours, cpu @ 44, sys @ 29

Sounds like you need some more voltage. With those temperatures, heat shouldn't be an issue. Give it around 1.75v or 1.8v and then try 100*9.0 and see what it does. If it still doesn't do anything, it might be the chip.

Yup, increasing the voltage in .5v increments should be the next step.
