Duron 600's=best o/c. Will Athlon XP 1.33's be the same?

I can't wait to see if the XP 1.33's overclock well, because there is a good chance that the first XP's off the line gave a good yield and the 1.33's are simply marked down cpus!

I know it's too early to tell from actual results but what the hell lets speculate - what do guys with knowledge of CPU manufacturing methods think?

This happened with the Duron 600's hitting 1gig, so you never know.........................................
 
they won't...the core at current steppings doesn't have much headroom

though, u should be able to squeeze ~200mhz outta them...not too shabby for free.
 
That'd be really cool but i'll probably still end up getting a 1.53 XP anyways. But depending on how tight money becomes that's a nice back up plan. Or why would they release a 1.33 XP. You can get a TB 1.4 for cheaper. Sure you get a different core and extra features with the XP but I still wonder why.
 
200Mhz, with the new organic packaging and the cooler running core, they should be able to at least take the palomino up to 1.7 if not 1.8. I mean your saying that the 1.53 is the last .18Tbird?

That's it; I can't resist it any longer. The 1.33 XP is staring me in the face saying "buy, buy". Only 8 left!

Considering I'm in the UK, where higher models cost ££££'s, and I was about to buy a 1.4TB for nearly the same price yesterday, and that 1.33 will run@1.4 on a 140 FSB without unlocking, and I'm impatient (real reason), I've just gotta hit that buy buy buy!

Someone please stop me...........................................

But I waited so long to get a 1.4 TB as they dropped in value, then as I'm about to buy one an XP pops up for more or less the same price!

I'm sick of waiting. I mean you can wait forever in the fast moving computer world................................
 
hehe yea i think i'm about to jump on the bandwagon also, i mean you can only wait so much, the ecs board, and then amd finally said something about the palamino so i waited for that but now i don't know if i can wait any longer
 
Yea i know what you mean....lol. I'm trying to convice myself as much as you guys!😉 But I'll be building a computer for my dad around Christmas time, so I'll probably throw this overclocked Duron in his rig and get me an Athlon XP😎
