I got my duron running at 888mhz at 1.85V with a global fop32 and whenever I try to get it even a little higher its not stable in windows and it only runs at 39C when under heavy usage . Why ! ? :) hehe not that 888 is bad just curios

Perhaps it is something else causing instability?
At FSB of 111, memory is running at 111mhz or 144mhz depending on Bios setting.
Either that or video card "may" be causing this.

Of course 888mhz using 111*8 is slightly faster than if you could run 1ghz using 100*10, so this may best the best combination for speed that you can run. Sure, you could probably run your CPU at 100*9.5, but why when your system at 888mhz is faster than a 1ghz?

Normally, I leave CPU at stock settings, (100*6 in this case), then increase FSB first to see how hard you can stress the rest of the system components. After you determine the correct max FSB your memory and cards will run at, then increase your multilpier to the most it will run stable at. My 600 runs great at 112x8 or 896mhz with stock HSF, but temperature is mid 50's under heavy load. Sure is nice to turn numbers higher than 1ghz (100*10) T-Birds with this $70 CPU.

What kind of thermalgrease are you using. I use Arctic Silver which made it 1c - 3c cooler. Did you put on the HSF with the mobo out of the case to see if they mated well. What kind of mobo are you using? I wouldn't play with the FSB until you get a satisfactory speed using multiplier first.
