I'm not a fan of this cover. I loved the original, but I just don't like the way this was done. Some songs just don't sound right to me in a metal style.

Yeah, I'm a big dream theater fan too. I don't know I guess I'm just not feeling it. The way the lyrics are being sung seems off to me for some reason.

I am considering getting this album though, is it good?

So far so good. It's somewhat 'shallow' when compared to dream theater, but it's very straightforward and rocking. Totally different. I can see fans of Pantera liking it a lot.

that's AMOB to me. Straight up hard rocking almost metal.


I'm 3:50 into this cover and I feel like destroying my office now. I think I'll listen to it again :D This is totally not good for my ears.

So...I listened to the cover, liked it..however, then I listened to the rest of the album....and it's so so. It's not bad, but it's just...just..well..everything else out right now and too middle of the road. Nothing really stood out. Maybe just expecting too much from the talent behind it.

I find Lebrai's last Static Impulse solo album to be far superior to this and even it had it's misses.

Keep in mind, this is Portnoy's "have fun and kick ass' band.. not the band for demoing his technical prowess.

The song just absolutely destroys starting @ 4:00. Face melting goodness.

I listen to metal and I am a fan of Duran Duran, but this cover just doesn't do anything for me. Musical arrangement is done well, but the vocal is lacking though. It sounded like an angry teenager shouting.

I think that this is technically a good cover, but sung in this style it loses the emotion and power of Duran Duran's original version. It tries too hard to be "metal" I think.

Jani Lane doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Russell Allen.
