Mostly dealing with pdf's. How can I do this manually?

Lets say I have a 100 page manual, how can I print pages then take them off the printer, insert them into the paper tray correctly, then run them tru again printing the backsides?

The driver does not allow for manual duplex as there is a $500 duplexer module avail which I will NOT be buying. The printer was only $349.00 new.

Usually you can print evens backwards, then reinsert in the correct orientation, and print odds. This way on the second pass everything is in the correct order.

example for a 5-page doc: print evens 4, 2. Reinsert and print 1, 3, and 5.
example for a 4-page doc: print evens 4, 2. Reinsert and print 1, 3.

There is a program called fineprint which automatically does thing kind of thing (and more) which I used to have. Now my print drivers have it built in so I stopped using it especially since it's not cheap.

You can do this easily in Word or any other word processor. You print odd numbered pages first. Rotate and invert the stack. Then, print even pages.

I just did this with a 161 page PDF file. I opened the file in my PDF reader, and selected PRINT. I think selected "All, Odd Pages Only." My old HP laser did the odd page. I set the order so page 1 would be on top with the top edge towards me..

When that was done, I took the stack and placed it back in the tray, print side up, page 1 on top. I then selected Print again and this time, "All, even pages only." That did the other side. When done, I punched holes, put it in a binder and gave it to the requesting client.

If your application doesn't support odd/even batch printing, use FinePrint software, it makes manual duplexing easy and has great preview modes and paper-saving features.
