Just another spoiled white bitch who has never held a real job and thus hasn't learned to let anything slide off.

Poor cashier. Held it together like a champ. I'd have let her have it for sticking a camera in my face.

What's bad about berating people in the service industry - aside from the obvious unkindness - it puts them in a bad mood, and their attitudes can be negative to the next customer. I've noticed that in New York (probably because of stress) both customers and employees tend to be meaner or more irritable than when I've been in the suburbs of other states in the South or Midwest.

Also, just went to Dunkin' Donuts for a small black coffee. These people provide my caffeine fix. God bless them, and curse the trashy people who are mean for little or no reason.

I wonder, now that Taylor Chapman's odds of landing a meaningful job have been shot to hell with this publicity, what will she do next? This is going to come up every time her name is googled.

I hate to joke, but she might end up working at a Dunkin' Donuts.

Not that im defending her, but everyone turns into a racist when they are angry. It's easy to latch on to any superficial thing - and skin color or ethnic background is superficial - when you are looking down on someone else because you aren't getting your way.

I don't know about "everyone" "turning into" a racist when they're angry. People are what they are, anger just removes filters.

And besides that, I'm not racist when I'm angry. I can honestly say I have never called someone a nagger (lol censorship), beloved patriot, or anything else like that. Granted, I don't get loud when I'm mad, I find a way to settle accounts. But still, for me there are basically three kinds of person: there are people I don't know, people I don't respect, and people I do respect. If I hate someone it is because they're a moron, how much respect I have for their culture is mostly irrelevant.

My general take on swearing and racial epithets-

Saying 'dirty' words feels good. When you really need to get some shit off your motherfucking chest, entry-level swear words do not do the job.

But they're all just words. People can make what they want of it...and that's the key. Exactly how foul does society at large consider the motherfucking words that are coming out of your goddamn mouth? Remember: it was once a big deal that someone said 'damn' in a movie. Back then, I bet damn felt damn good, because people knew it was damn wrong to say that damn word.

But as we have grown more tolerant, it has become less satisfying to relieve pain or frustration by shouting 'PG' words. Fuck is now so fucking common, that sometimes you just have to kick it up a fucking notch and really try to offend people.

And there's your lesson for the day, you bunch of cocksmoking wise and beautiful woman-faced n-word (dumb censorship is dumb) faggots.*

The important part is only using your expletives on the groups they don't generally apply to. This was the mistake that this lady made.

That, and not strangling herself in the womb with her own umbilical cord.

(*if we have any black homosexual men here, change the above to...boob-touching honkey. Or something)

You are putting quotes around individual words, but taken together it's easier to see what I meant: people can and do use racist words and terms when they lose their temper, even if they aren't necessarily racist. The appearance of racism is what I was getting at, not people literally turning into racists. There isn't a person here who hasn't at least thought something that would be considered racist if said aloud.

You know how I know this? Because everyone uses hateful words (or at least thinks them) that they don't mean, even to people they love. I guarantee you whether you are black, white, asian, hispanic/latino, whatever, you've had racist, sexist, murderous, thoughts about someone before (hopefully fleeting). You've at least thought of one racist term in respect to another person, even if you aren't really racist at heart. Embracing the hate and accepting it versus rejecting it is what differentiates people.

And yes, most of us can keep ourselves in check most of the time. But I'm not going to condemn anyone for using a racist term once or twice in anger. Even in this thread you see people referring to the woman as a "white bitch" or "white chick". Does it matter that she's a woman or white? She could have easily been any race. Even the same as the guy she was yelling at (plenty of self-hating people of any race).

She definitely said some stupid things and it's obviously going (and is) costing her big time, unless what she wanted all along was attention. Regardless, I would not want be in her shoes at this point. People can overreact, and sometimes in scenarios like this people send death threats. This is not going to affect just her, it's going to affect her family and friends. It might be her fault, but it's not something that should receive this level of attention.

Look on the bright side - she had the decency to record herself. Think about how many times a day this kind of thing happens with no repercussions, yet thanks to her misguided sense of righteousness she will probably lose her job. And if I were her law school I'd be working on fixing that too.

This will likely have serious long term impact on her. As it should.

My other thought: as a customer witnessing that how could you possibly not be compelled to put a stop to it? Call the police, there is no reason to let that go on for 8 minutes. (I will admit I did not watch to completion, so if someone did then well done. But I'm assuming since it made it to the web she made it out of the store under her own power which is a goddamn shame.)
