Dungy accepts offer to coach Colts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy has accepted an offer to coach the Indianapolis Colts, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

The deal is for five years, Pasquarelli reports. Financial details have not been disclosed.

Dungy, also considered a leading candidate for the Carolina Panthers' opening, was fired Jan. 14 after going 54-42 in six seasons with the Buccaneers, taking them to the playoffs four times.

Tampa Bay advanced to the NFC championship game two years ago, but Dungy's inability to get past the first round of the playoffs since displeased team owners.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

yay, i like this guy. the bucs were stupid for getting rid of him.

did you guys also hear in the news that jon gruden's agent says he wont be coaching the raiders after his contract is up next season?
his parents live in tampa bay, so people are speculating that he could go for that if the job is open again after next season. heh.

lol, because the players had NOTHING to do with losing those games. whatever, the colts will win the super bowl in under 4 years. Dungy is a great coach and i hope he does well (sad he left the vikes in the first place, of course because i am a vikings fan and always have been)
