Dungeons and Dragons diceboy vs. MMORPG WoW-type addict ?

Who's got the worse stigma socially?

Who's more likely to have a GF?

Who's more likely to return to normal life after their little fantasy escapade ?

D&D By far, for some reason it's acceptable to spend 18 hours a day raiding Molten Core in WoW. A lot of people still think of D&D as 'that demonic game that killed those college students'

Having done both I can say I'd rather sit down with friends at a table than play online with a bunch of fvckers.
I know theres some good folks doing playing MMO but its one of those "99% give the rest a bad name" situations.

Yes, I am a nerd, but looking around at whats considered cool nowadays, I dont think I'm missing out on anything.
Besides, at least twice in my life I've given a girl a "pearle necklace" so I dont think I've made all bad decisions about my hobbies. 😀

****** that reminds me. I really aught to find a local D&D game.
Ahhhhhhhhh The urge is in me!

I have a group composed of a bunch of guys some I know from high school. We go to a remote location for a long weekend once a year and play D&D for 10+ hours a day, for 3-4 days, by the end we've got the urge completely out of our systems for another year. Been doing it 4 years now. Works very well.

At least with D&D you're interacting with others... but yeah I'd say stigma-wise in an everyday person's view it still is looked on worse. Mainly because a lot of people only know of WoW in passing I thnk.

Even regular RPG'ers think LARP-ers are odd. There is a guy in our group who was an actor in a Wisconsin Ren Fair for several years though, and he thinks it's fine.

Freaks.
