Dungeon Siege with 2 characters or less?

I'm incredibly bored so I'm playing on the hardest level with 2 characters and six mules
I just made it to the swamp. I'm surpised that I made it this far. Sometimes I'll get impatient and walk out a little too far and get my butt handed to me!

Has anyone tried it with only one character?

I'm at the very end of the Goblin level with my two characters and that damn robot keeps kicking the crap out of me! It's not even a close battle. I think I'm going to have to resort to turning the difficulty down or else I might get mad and find a crowbar or hammer.

I don't even want to know what it's going to be like if I ever get to what's-his-name..Gresh?

It seems hopeless for me at the Goblin boss. I'm lucky to knock even a couple hundred hit points off of him before I'm dead! I haven't figured out what to do yet. I don't want to have to change the difficulty or cheat.

I already tried swearing a few times but it had no effect whatsoever on the outcome of the battle!

I finished it solo as a melee character. Towards the end I got a nature magic guy to follow me around with the healing hands spell. Just carry around a LOT of health potions.
