Nah, he probably downloaded a "pre-release" like I did. I'm not advocating piracy, and don't want to start a whole thread again on it. That said...

This game is absolutely AMAZING. I loaded it this morning, and was like, "Well, I'll give it a test run..." Five hours later, I couldn't get myself to turn it off... I was never a big fan of Diablo, but this game has bowled me over...

Best time I've had with an RPG since Betrayal at Krondor... That probably dates me...

Simply amazing...

ebworld.com has the ship date listed as tomorrow, so it is possible some B&M stores have it on shelves already (as happened last week - I was able to walk into a EB B&M store and they had Jedi Knight II on the shelves before the supposed ship date on ebworld.com). I will be strolling by my local EB tonight so I will have to see if they have it on their shelves yet....

Damn, i hate when two games I want come out at the same time. I can't decide between Dungeon Siege or Jedi Knight II. There hasn't been a computer game I really wanted for like 6 months, and then two come out at damn near the same time. Bastards!

Release date is listed as Friday from what I've seen. I will buy a copy (I'm an honest pirate) then. I am still amazed at how GOOD this game is. I never even heard about it until a few weeks ago, and now... Wow. This and Jedi Knight II with a few weeks. I am just buried in good games...

I have pre-ordered it, and I was just wondering if I should be making a trip down to the local CompUSA today. ;)

trmiv, I picked up JK2 last night... so far, I'm not impressed at all. I hear it gets better half way through, especially after you get the Light Sabre. We'll see if I make it that far.

I remember Betrayal at Krondor. :) In terms of gameplay, that has to be in the top ten, most bang for your buck in gaming history. :D

Since I have JK2, I can comment on that.

I have JK2 ($40 at Best Buy on Monday). It's ok. The graphics are good, the music is great, the scripting is good.

BUT, there are places where you die where you have no warning at all that you will be absolutely dead if you do this thing. That irritates me because I rarely save - I find it makes the game more exciting if dying means something... like replaying the last 10 minutes of the game again. But dying without warning and without exceptions just irritates me. There are quite a few jumping puzzles which are not my favorite. And there are plenty of places where you just get stuck because you don't realize that there's a little itty-bitty vent in the corner that you need to blow up and crawl through.

It's not that the game sucks - it's actually quite fun, and immersive. But it doesn't have several annoyances that make me wonder if I should just sell it and wait for Dungeon Siege instead. I'll reserve some judgement for when I get the lightsaber and force powers. The multiplayer seems quite good as well. Maybe it's better than I think it is. But last night I was about ready to give up on it.

Betrayal at Krondor ruled! I loved that game.

I pre-ordered Dungeon Siege. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Jedi knight 2 is sweet after you get your light sabre and jedi powers, the first part is ok but once you get your light sabre and powers you will know why you bought that game, i have dungeon siege preordered and its still on "waiting for product"

I think I must get Dungeon Siege before JKII. I've been waiting for another good RPG or hack-n-slash RPG for awhile. My mood is just tuned towards that RPG style game right now.

JK2 lost all appeal after 2 hours or so for me.

Dungeon Siege is just a 3d Diablo. I wasnt all that impressed really.

See, that sounds really appealing to me. To each their own, I guess. And I'm sure their is more to it than that.

It's ok. It has the stupid pack system from Diablo, tho. Although it has some auto-arrange features that are cool.

It's multiplayer works pretty well too.

Where have you guys tried it out? Is it in stores early in your area? Or are you using "other" methods?

i think thats irrelevant :)

but i didnt mean 3d diablo as a derrogatory statement either i was a BIG fan of Diablo 1 but still its just to repetitve for me. Dungeon Siege also feels like an MMORPG to me kinda like th eatmosphere and the way things work and i REALLY REALLY REALLY hate mmorpg's

Tried it... yes, it does indeed 0wnz :)
However, when they say that you can enter a certain area because of your character level... don't take that too seriously. I got 0wnz'd several times going into areas I wasn't ready for. Here's another tip... try to specialize in a single skill, don't freelance unless you wanna feel constantly weak.

Can't wait to see what people will come up with Siege Editor... I cast "nef" :D

JK II is nothing special in my opinion. If you like hack n slash games, I'd get dungeon siege (though I have never played it).

Can't wait to start playing this game. I'll look around tomorrow and see if there are any early birds out, but I doubt it.
If this game ends up being as repetitive as Diablo2 I will indeed be, disappointed, but I don't think it will.
I hope:)

Are you kidding? Heck, I was playing Lemonade on the first Apple 2, loading it from a cassette deck.

Holy cow! I remember playing Lemonade. And a game called DogStar on the C64. It was a text adventure that seemed to be a based on the DeathStar.

Well, if Dungeon Siege is like Diablo 2, only it's even better, then I am screwed screwed SCREWED. What is wrong with these computer game companies? Don't they realize I have to go to work and interact with those other people that live in my house?

I've only played about an hour of it. So far, it's different enough so that you won't be disappointed. The leveling up system is totally different from D2.

btw, those that are playing JK2, let us know if it's good or not after you get the light saber.

Looks like we're both screwed, Maetryx.
