Dungeon Siege: Mouse wheel no workie???

You are supposed to be able to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel. It don't work for me. I checked all the settings and made sure my mouse wheel works in other games. Anyone else having this problem? I have a Logitech Dual Optical.

Seems to work fine (I'm using a MS Intellimouse Optical). Hope this Microsoft game doesn't look for Microsoft mouse software... :p

I can confirm that this isn't the case... I have the Logitech iFeel mouse, running the latest Mouseware drivers, and am zooming without problems.

Hope you get the problem resolved though... it's a fine game except for the frame rate though.

That's really odd. I will have to work on it. It's no big deal, I can always use the '-' & '=' keys. It is a great game, I love it.

Using inteli-mouse optical and working fine. Point of note: I did a Windows Update last week and it had a listing for new mouse drivers... I installed them and the wheel and forward/backward buttons ceased to work. After re-installing the drivers from the CD that came with the mouse, all is well again. Any chance this happened to you?

Read the readme file, there is an issue on zooming specifically for Logitech Optical Mice. I followed the directions in the file, and mouse wheel zooming works fine for me on my logitech optical. It's something about enabling office compatible scrolling or something in the mouse application, I'm at work and I don't remember. Read the read me, it's in there.

trmiv: Thanks, I think I know the setting you are talking about. I will check out the README when I get home. Thanks, I should have checked it before hand.

Yo,
Same problem here, I have a Logitech Wireless Optical Wheel Mouse and the wheel doens't work.

However, I also have a Logitech Wireless Keyboard, the zoom works from the wheel on the keyboard.

trmiv's tip was right on the money, thanks!

Logitech Mouse Wheel Does Not Allow You to Zoom in Game
You may find that scrolling the mouse wheel on a Logitech mouse does not allow you to zoom. To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
1. Update the driver for your mouse from http://www.logitech.com.
2. After updating the driver, restart your computer.
3. Once back in Windows, right click on the Logitech mouse icon in the taskbar and select Properties.
4. Click the Buttons tab.
5. Make sure WebWheel is selected in the #2 Option.
6. Under the Scroller section, select Use MSOffice Compatibility Scroll Only and Scroll in Active Window Only.
