Feel free to post any observations, critiques, rants etc, just try to stay on topic (no I'm not new here and yes I know that is a vain hope).

I've been a fan of cinematic Dune versions since the cheesy original with . . . kyle mclaughlin? Too lazy to check.

But HBO spared no expense on this and after watching the first three episodes (only once so far - I drift in and out so once isn't really enough to catch everything) I have to say, this is going to be yet another classic. And in theory, we have 10k years to work with.

I am curious though how 2 "cowardly" Harkonnen managed to gain control of the sisterhood. Apparently the sisterhood is an EOE.

I've wanted to get HBO for f'ing forever. It's not like I can't afford it, it just irked me for some reason. But for someone who, unfortunately, tends to watch a lot of tv, it seems to be quite a good value.

I am really digging Dune Prophecy. The first episode was the weakest but mostly because it was a lot of introductory stuff, and of course they are going with a GOT style sex scene in there, which is mildly annoying. But the show is great, this last episode really crushed it. What is kind of worrying me is that we are halfway through the series with three episodes already in. It's only a six episode season. Seems like things will feel rushed. But they cheaped out vs going for at least eight episodes which should be the minimum for continuous series.

Not sure what's up with HBO. I'm noticed that even try to lipsync dialog that you can tell wasn't part of the original.

Anyway, 6 episodes? I hope Nielson ratings are knocking their socks off and graphically demonstrate what f'ing stupid idea it was to have just 6 episodes. Thx for the info.

The only thing I can hope is that maybe before an entire year clicks by, they come out with "season" two.
