For all of you people who care, it's on at seven! I know it's a bad movie but for some reason I totally love it.

You'll probably think I'm nuts, but I've read the book about 15 times, and seen the movie that many times as well. I am a big fan of Dune, but I like the extended version that SciFi shows from time to time with the male narrator. The extended version explains what's going on even better than the theatrical release, although if you haven't read the book, the movie is REALLY hard for some to understand.:Q -kd5-

I don't know if it matters but the web-site says its on at 7pm eastern time, I don't know what that means for all of you non-EST people, please check your local listings, I'd hate to have people think of me as a liar. :)

As far as the movie goes, I've read all six books many times, as well as reading the first of the 3 prequels, I know the movie can't touch the books, but for some reason I'm compelled to watch it, and I love it anyhow. I'm also looking forward to Sci-Fi channels own Dune mini-series which is coming this winter. Anyone else

MMM...Dune...

Maybe this is a stupid question, but how long is the longest version of Dune? Video rental stores as well as video sales places (Suncoast, etc.) only seem to have the short version which seems to have a lot of stuff missing, and I'd swear that I remember seeing one which was like 4 or 6 hours long. The ones I find I think are like an hour and a half.

The 4 hour version is on tonite. Thats why I said it was on from 6-10. Are those painkillers addling your brain?:)

Someone had posted a place where you could buy it a while back.....but I don't remember where.:D

Princess;)

But it is on Sci-Fi your time from 7-11.

4 hours. That's 3 hours without commercials.

Set your VCR to record it and you can save an hour.

Me - I had a roommate that loved it. I saw it too many times. I really like the book series, however.

Aside from the fact that the film eventually ends, what do people see in "Dune"?

A butchered story, poor acting, and cheap special effects seem to be its big selling points... am I missing anything?

The only actor with anything close to ambiance is Patrick Stewert, but he only has 4 minutes of screen time in a screenplay that appears to be stretching eternity. At some points I was worried that someone had recorded over "Dune" with some kind of "Planet of the Zombies" movies, but, alas, I was unhappily fooled... This film is right below "WaterWorld" on my worst 10 list.

If you mistakedly stopped here for a "hot deal", turn tail and go to your local library.

(sorry to offend the "Duners" who inhabitit this thread, the truth will set you free)

Ok...The version that is on Tonight is the Long version of the Movie....too bad im at work and wont get home to see it. If your looking for copies of it here you go:

VHS - http://www.revok.com They sell it on 2 VHS Tapes

DVD - http://www.sazuma.com They sell a DVD Version of the Long Edition of the movie. It is Region 2 meaning you have to have a region Free DVD Player to watch it or a Computer DVD-ROM that you can make Region Free. Beware its expensive, cost me about $80 and it does take a while to get, took about 3 weeks for mine since it has to come from Japan.

Anyone needs more info just post.

Hi Crysla Babe :) didnt know you liked Dune.
