Dune 2000 won't play

OK, first off let me make it clear. I have TWO original genuine Dune 2000 CD's.

Next, If I put one of them in my old Athlon X2 3800 box running windows 2000, it works fine.

Next, it USED to work on my regular box, but only on an external CD drive, then it would auto-play, and when the game starts up, you see some into video and so on. Then I could play fine.

One day, I rebooted the box, and after that the auto-play stopped working. I can right click and auto-play and that fine, but when the game starts up, the into video doesn't play, and when I try to play it says "this is a spawned game, please insert the cd".

WTF ? its not my disks, and I don;t even think my new hardware is a problem, but yes, something changed.

Help !!!!

I loved that game, when I read this thread yesterday I thought I would try and install it again. Nope, incompatible with win7 64 bit. I can't get past the first install screen.

Last time I was able to play it was also with an amd 3800 and XP pro 32 bit os. This is why I keep all my old computers lying around just in case I get into retro gaming.

Considering that you legall own and possess the original CDs, may I suggest that you look for a no-CD loader?

PM me if you need assistance with a potential site :X
