Greetings,

I have a server running NT4 and previously had two remote WimME systems set to connect to it via a modem connection were I dial the number of the phone line that is connected to the server's modem.

The two systems in question are networked together at a remote office using a standard ethernet NIC and a 4 port hub and they can talk to each other. They both have their own modem, but share a phone line. Each can connect to the Internet using our ISP, but when either tries to connect to the company's server by direct dialing it returns an error 650.

It dials the server without problem, and the server is able to answer, then trues to validate the username and password and after a long pause returns this error. I have checked the username and password on the server and they seem to be correct. Both computers could connect previous to two events.

#1: A key employee with admistrative rights left under a cloud. #2: I did a refresh reinstall on both of the WinME systems in an attempt to correct other niggling little problems. It wasn't until after both events occured that the problem popped up, so I am not sure if either could have any bearing on the current problem.

Thanks in advance for any advice someone might offer!
