Looking to get rid of comcast.net get earthlink???
I was switched to comcast.net about 2 weeks ago. When I was on comcast@home for 4.5 years my IP was the same. Since going to comcast.net I have had 12 IP addresses. I think they are looking for servers and changing their IPs. It also looks like they are blocking port 80 now..
I Run a proxy/smtp/web server on my home network.
I know there are was around these things but, The IP changes play hell with my mail server and make VPN impossible.
I can get Earthlink 768/128 ADSL for $64.95in my neighboorhood for that would include a static IP and earthlinks permission to run what ever I want on that IP.. So how does ADSL 768/128 compare to Cable?? In the past I have gotten 1.2 - 865 at different times.
I can also get 768/128 from IJ.net for about the same. Looks like they will all be running over verizion so does it really matter???
Would also like to hear from anyone that has uses eartlink and maybe used to be on cable.
