My sister was looking up traffic violations and points for Rutgers University on the web site. These rules come into effect if you get pulled over by Rutgers police rather than regular city police. I was reading the list out of curiosity and found this violation:

N.J.S.A. Section #
39:4-128.4

Offense
Improper passing of a frozen dessert truck

Points
4

Err, while improper passing carries 4 points regardless (unless it's a school bus), wtf do they have one just for a frozen dessert truck?

Because it's the number one offense.

Yeah, which probably results in a steeper fine, so you need to separate it from regular illegal passing.

Ice Cream trucks have those little stop signs for the same reason school busses do.
