Yeah it should provide great competition to the cheaper parts, less overhead, more aftermarket, easier upgradeable LQ9 345HP / 380lbs ALL Z06 parts BOLT right on

Who gives a crap about bolting on some sh!t? :D Buy a truck and use it damnit!!! Trucks are meant to haul stuff, not drag race :p I'm gonna put my ass out in the wind here, but I'd be willing to take a bet the majority of the 900,000 F-Series trucks sold each year are bought for a particular duty by a company or individual, and aren't modded under the hood...afterall, they're just work trucks.

I know that when my dad gets rid of his '97 F-150 that he'll most likely get a Dodge 1500 w/the Hemi. And he could care less about bolting on some performance goodies. He uses his truck to commute to work and haul stuff back and forth. As for the Hemi going into the 1500, here ya go:

LOL, does your daddy even own a load leveler? Does he tow 8000lb loads through the rockies?? no and you don't either, so don't even TRY to step into the towing ring with me little boy you will get stomped out like I'm stompin you now, the LQ9 has more torque and is therefor a better towvehicle as it's also backed by a stronger tranny, you have LOST !!!!

BTW to rub it in the Whipple is a TOWING supercharger not a racing charger I live at 6000ft alt and tow into the rockies in that little school of yours maybe you can learn some about air density and how bad it kills power

if you think 375lbs of torque is alot in the towing world you are definantly green in the field

Wow, someone hit a nerve in the wrong way. :D BTW I got your PM but forgot about it, my bad. How much money has he put into the GenI though? It'd almost be cheaper to buy a GenII and mod it with the huge availability of parts now for it

Sure, 375 lb-ft of torque isn't a lot compared to 2500 and 3500 level trucks, but what did you expect? Compared to what Chevy and Ford have in 1500 land, that's quite a bit.

He got the 95 L with only 35K miles on it for $12,000 then he got the supercharger (Vortech S-trim) off Ebay for $800... he bought the brakets from vortech for about $250 then we fabricated all the plumbing ourselves. T-rex fuel pump for $180, and we subtracted the EEPEC cause the 19lb's were doing great with the FMU :D

NFS just knows I've got to give him crap ;).... but it is fact and not just an opinion ;)

Hehehe, I hate those too.

Something tells me that the guy was originally scripted to get out and walk around to the drivers side only to have the (original) driver get back in the truck first. Lighting, time, idiot writer(s), or some other technical reason probably lead to the change(no pun).

Why do you ALWAYS deny GM's OTHER small blocks??

LQ4 and LQ9?? the 8.1 is a Big Block not available and also a stupid decision if you ask me

Remember GM was the 1st to the line to have a 1500 tow 10,000lbs... lets see if the Hemi gets rated for the same GVWR

Can you get the 345/380 in the 1500 Silverado or Sierra? Nope. The only way you're getting it is if you get an SS or a Denali :p

Didn't you say earlier you'd want your truck to be spotless all the time <remember you saying something about you can't stand a dirty vechicle) and look good and have a great interior as well? Kinda contradicts with what your saying now (but I like what your saying now...looks, interior, cleanliness doesn't matter in a work truck!)

Not flaming or anything. Btw, I like the GM truck commercial where it's big compared to everything else and you see it drive over the site. Looks good. Don't like the Dodge one with the Porsche in it..seems stupid. But the boat one is pretty funny (un-realistic..but funny).

The allmighty Hemi not only has that big name that has the little kiddie magizene readers in awe but that high compression duel plug setup and you are bragging about 15lbs of torque?

Oh and to the untrained one's... well you :p the 300/360 rating was done in 1999 since then the LQ4 has recieved better tuning MAF and TB and the killer of them all, it's gotten Aluminum heads that are similar to the Z06.

If you didn't know GM underrates you are clueless

And how about the Tranny what backs the Hemi up?? how does it compare to the 4L85 or hell can it even compare to the M30?? I'll answer that NOPE

That brings up a funny story, one of my fellow employee's has a Isuzu Trooper, he was complaining about a loud clunk all of a suddden on the drive in a few weeks ago, he laughs as I pulled my creeper out from under my back seat and notices all my tools and toys in my WORK TRUCK also under the seat and behind the drver seat ;) turns out his U-join broke but those troopers have a hanger to catch them, kept everything intact, he doesn't know how lucky he is.

I said if "I" were buying a truck. What I look for in a truck is different from the majority. If I were buying a truck today, it would be a Tundra TRD or a Ram Sport with the 20" wheels and of course it would be clean as a whistle 24-7 :D

What my dad likes in pickups is different from what I like. Everyone is different.

Wouldn't a car with more room, power, better looks be cheaper then?

In any case...why 20s? You know you want some 24inch bling bling with 45-series tires..fo cheesy my sheezy (or whatever it is)

BLING! BLING!

I said "if" I were buying a truck, geez. I have no use for one right now. Why the hell would I buy a truck when my car does all I need it to do? I said "if" I were to buy a truck today, those would be the two that I would look into.

Just give credit where credit is due. I'm not bragging about anything, I was just pointing out the numbers that the Hemi is putting out stock while you want to talk about bolting on performance goodies.

I know you love GM and all like a brother, but at least give the damn Chrysler engine a chance before you write it off and scream LQ9 4eva. As for the transmission, we'll see when it gets here.

24" rims come on the Ram SRT-10 AFAIK. As for subs and stuff, I don't buy into that crap. Stock audio systems are fine for me b/c I don't blast my music for everyone else to hear...that's stupid.

For a 2-seater, I'd take a 350Z for $29,000 out the door nicely equipped:D

Hey, no fighting guys. :D

NFS4, what state do you live in?
