OK I get a call from a friend who i've done computer work for before. she says her hard drive is dying "again" (last time before she met me, she shipped her pc off to a data recovery place and paid like a $1000 for her data, it was probably the same as this time
)
I try to keep her happy as she has the money to pay well... I go out there and her 13yr old son has loaded up so much P2P crap programs I can barely login (P4 1.7, 512MB ram) somehow he has uninstalled her antivirus and has like 20-30 spyware/music sharing programs on there.
it keeps spontaneously rebooting all the time, so I take it back to the office. can't install norton on there, took me about 2 hours to remove all the friggin programs he installed,
I finally get AVG anti-virus to install, lo and behold what do I find... KLEZ out the ying yang :| I should break his little fingers.
at least I got the mom to agree to put a password on it so he can no longer touch it.
/end rant
moral of the story...keep your anti-virus up 2 date and scan everynight!
