Not necesarily. AGP aperature is the amount of system memory the video card can take control of if needed. Since you have a 258 mb card, I doubt that it will ever need to borrow system memory, at least not for todays games.

I have a 128 mb card and noticed a small increase in the speed battlefield maps load when raising the aperature from 64mb to 128mb. Just play around with it and see if anything works better than something else.

In other words DaveU, "It ain't all science"...seriously, there are (well at least one) sites that will explain what's supposed to work well. If I had the link, I'd suggest looking it over. I didn't find it any faster to just do the above and try it both ways. You could test, just cover the variables that you can and try it. I never gained any speed, much more likely to have a bad video update (I run old equipment, computer-wise) because of the age of everything. We're the last to get the good stuff, IE: no probs with video cards, etc. that weren't a gleam in the eye of that kid down the block. Makes it interesting...;)
