Dumb subwoofer wiring question

I have a new TV with a subwoofer out (Pioneer Kuro Plasma, if it matters) and an old Velodyne powered sub. The sub out on the TV is a single RCA jack, while the only inputs on the sub are either speaker wire or right/left RCA jacks.

My question is, if I just run a single RCA cable from the TV's sub out to either the Right or Left "Line In" on the sub, will this work ok? I believe that subwoofers are mono, so I can't imagine why it wouldn't work...just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

(and before all the "get a decent 5.1 receiver" and "built-in tv speakers suck" posts...I have an old Onkyo 5.1 receiver, but the TV is going in a fairly small living room and there's not really room for the speakers or the wiring. If I can get decent sound quality from the Kuro's speaker + sub, that would be great...full 5.1 surround just isn't practical right now)

Some subs will specifically tell you to use the L or R input,, but even then 99% of the time it doesn't matter. So yes, hooking it up to either of those should work just fine for you.

Heh yeah. Sorta funny.

When will they start making AVRs with a small 3" LCD on them?

Then, you will be able to spend $2,000 on audio, and just get the video included for "free", the way TVs try to make you think you can get adequate performance out of the audio "solutions" they include.

Ya know, I also have never had a tv with S-video. Even my current HDTV (Sammy LNa330) doesnt have an s-video connection. Wish it did as I have rediscovered my PS2 and would rather use the svideo cable than the composite.
