dumb question....why do you need a case?

OK, I was wondering, why does your computer need a case? I mean probably some kind of shielding. I Just put this in off topic cause I bet theres a rael simple answer. but could you just have your computer as a little pile of parts on your desk with like a big fan blowing on it?
When you sent to lan parties you could just put it all in one of those static free bags and pour it out when you got there! Or put it in an icechest!

That would be funny.

Just wondering, I tried doing a no case setup after I did some maintenance on my PC a few days ago ...

How would you TURN ON the computer? 😕

I have a power switch that I yanked from a dead PC that I plug into mobos when I'm testing them out of the case.

I've seen people duct tape a motherboard and components to the wall and use it that way. You don't need a case. But it is a good thing to protect it and to keep it secure.

i've built machines out of the case before, but over time, the stuff can get dusty, and if metal touches it, the thing will go SPARK!

it is truly not a wise idea to go without a case.

No case on my K63+ chat machine. I turn it on by shorting the 2 pins that you'd plug a power button in to with a flathead.
