Dumb Question.. What is a cc0 stepping processor?//

Dumb Question.. What is a cc0 stepping processor?//
and why does my CPU multipler seem locked in the Bios.
I've got a P3 933 on a ASUS CUSL2-C and can push the Frequency as high as I want but the multipler remains grayed out so I can't change it.

😕

Pentium IIIs are multiplier locked, you can't change that. You can only change the FSB speed and that is how you overclock them.

Just be sure you put it though some intensive tests like 3DMark for graphics and Prime95 for non graphics.

It may seem rock stable until you really work that processor. 🙂

cc0 is the stepping, its like a revision.
Just think of it as a way to get more out of a CPU without redesigning it. They just change a few things, to get it to go faster, thats what the stepping is. The newer the stepping, usually the more it will overclock.
