dumb question (statistics)

gopunk

Lifer
i know this is probably really easy, but i'm just sitting here arguing myself back and forth...

is the age of someone a qualitative or quantitative statistic?

Yep, a specific age of a person would be quantitative, because it's a numerical quantity.

If you said someone looks "old", "over twenty", or "about 55", for example, I'd call that qualitative, because you're basically describing qualities of the person.

k, thanks. yea i guess now that i think about it, that should have been more obvious. i guess i was just not thinking correctly because i was thinking maybe age was a "quality" or something, but it makes sense, since you're counting the years an individual has.

I think it also can work with your weight too 🙂 Ummm how much weight did my wife gain after all of the food that she gained last night...? that is the question...
