Dumb question of the night: Can you damage a videocard by NOT having a monitor attached?

AFAIK, most PC motherboards (not specific SERVER mobos) will give you a BIOS error (and freeze) if either your videocard is defective or "missing" (not seated correctly)

So, I'd have to have a videocard in the slot, to get it to boot. This would be for a PC being used as a server. It would have the videocard installed, but no monitor attached. Can I fry the videocard this way? I've never ran a PC w/o a monitor attached before. Thanks.

You'll have no problem. I've run dozens of servers without monitors before - just accessed them remotely and only plugged in a monitor during the initial install.

Thanks much guys. Your reassurance (and experience) is greatly appreciated. :)
