Dumb question inside.

As Scottdog81 suggested, you can also use an alternative player like PowerDVD or Media Player Classic to take a screenshot of a media file while leaving video acceleration enabled.
 
Works for me. Opened paint > ctrl v there it was. Should work with any other prog too.

AFter following the link I knew what you meant. 🙁
