Dumb question-- if I 'upgrade' to win2k, will all my devices still be okay?

I am thinking about upgrading to win2k, but I know that some of the things I have are not compliant-- for instance, my TV card explicitly says "not Win2k compliant". If I upgrade and not clean install, will the drivers and devices all still work?

Thanks

Maybe. I have a web cam that is not Win2k compliant, but after extensive searching around the net, I found beta Win2k drivers. The down side is that the webcam locks up my computer after about five minutes of use. I have to reboot. I got so tired of it, I just bought another webcam which was Win2k compliant.

If your webcam says specifically not Win2k compliant and you can't find any drivers whatso ever to go with Win2k then Even if you upgrade from it working in Win98se to Win2k it won't work.

Definitely search for all the drivers and stuff you need before doing your Win2k upgrade. NTCompatible is a good resource for finding out if different apps and hardware are incompatible with Win2k and of course when you do the ugprade Win2k gives you a report saying what is incompatible etc. WOW eh.

There are different patches and things for Win2k that you'll want to hunt around for also but i'm sure these things will be fixed in SP2. Although I couldn't say that for sure.

I hope that helps.
