Dumb question about mice

I need to buy some equipment for both Macs and PCs. I know that Macs would take RAM that PCs would take. But what about other stuff like mice? Some external drives and such don't list Mac OS X as supported OSes. So I'm wondering if I need to consider that when buying something like a mouse. Also, if it's the case that they all work, should I be careful with microsoft, that might use proprietary technology (I remember doing something special when configuring linux), or even a 4D mouse?

Thanks.

Yes. So long as it uses USB, it should work hunky-dory. You might lose a few of the special features, but any USB mouse can be used. Logitech usually includes OSX-compatible drivers, too, which make them a good bet. (I'm still using a 1st generation Logitech Optical Mouse, and after four years, it still works great!)
Hope this helps,
Cheesehead.
