Fellas i have a Asus Z97-AR motherboard with a DDR3 1600 Ram in 2 slots. I still have 2 empty slots. Can i install faster DDR3 ram in there? If so, will they still run in dual channel mode?
 
As far as I remember, the RAM will run at the slowest common speed. In your case, it would be the speed of the DDR3 1600 if you get faster RAM, and yes in dual channel. If you want the faster speed, you could try to overclock if your motherboard can support that (haven't checked) but obviously at your own risk, no garanties, etc.
